We’re Head Over Heels for Islay
Romantic Places to Visit on Islay
Our spectacular wee Scottish island in the Inner Hebrides is the perfect place for a romantic break. So, if you’re visiting us this Valentine’s Day, here are a few suggestions of romantic places to visit on Islay.
Love at First Sight
There are many beautiful views around Islay for a lovely romantic setting. Perhaps you’re planning a Valentine’s picnic, or looking for a special beauty spot to pop the question!
Stroll along the picturesque Bowmore Harbour and look out across Lochindaal. Gaze up at the fairytale ruins of Dunyvaig Castle. Or, climb to the summit of Beinn Mhor, the highest hill on the Oa peninsula, for stunning panoramic views.
The Perfect Match
For a romantic day out on Islay, there are lots of great attractions and things for couples to do.
Spend the day visiting one of Islay’s many whisky distilleries, where you can take a tour and sample a dram or two for yourselves. Wildlife lovers can enjoy a spot of bird-watching at the magnificent RSPB Loch Gruinart Reserve. Or, set sail on an Islay Wildlife Tour together, where you may spot dolphins, otters, sharks and eagles.
Eat Your Heart Out
Of course, for a delicious dinner for two, look no further than our very own Peatzeria Restaurant. With romantic views across the water and dishes to fall in love with, it’s the perfect place to treat yourselves!
And don’t forget, if you’re staying at our Tarbert House accommodation nearby, you’ll receive a 10% discount in the restaurant.
