Islay is famous for whisky and there are many distilleries here. Our small island is the perfect location for producing rich, smoky, peaty whiskies. This is due to the abundance of peat we have in the ground, which gives Islay whiskies their signature flavour. It’s why we’re called Peatzeria after all!
The incredibly talented Scots artist Nichol Wheatley creates beautiful artwork all over Scotland. Public areas, hotels, bars and restaurants across the country are adorned with his contemporary wall art and paintings. And now, you can see his work at our very own Peatzeria Restaurant in Islay.
Humans have been producing plastic waste for over a hundred years, and the effects on the environment are becoming more and more apparent as time goes by. Much of the plastic we throw away ends up as tiny fragments in the sea. An estimated eight million metric tons of it every single year!
Join us at Peatzeria on Friday 28th September, between 10 am and 2 pm, to support the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning 2018. We will be selling delicious teas, coffees and home-baked cakes to raise funds for the fantastic charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
